News kept on blasting that the govt will bring in more safeguards for problem gambling..And the poor are the ones suffering for the gambling addiction . From a mere 0.6 percent ..it has risen to 8% of problem gambler in the lower poor strata of society?
Why is that so? Very simple...Poor people has no other means to earn money. So, the best opinion is to used little money to try one's luck to gamble. And many may gamble away their life and happiness and families' happiness and broken families....SAD..SAD..SAD...dastardly SAD!!
The govt is knocking their own thick numskull now for the very cause they saw but do not acknowledge, the repercussions and societal ills and disharmony that gambling would bring to the population at large....
The govt just want their bottom-line and GDP...I guess Lim Boon Heng did not cry loud and sad enough..

uncle Pat,..most who "cannot afford to lose", gamble - because such gives them hope. we only have 24hours in a day, & again, it seems that another new activity was created, to distract us from our more important, individual objectives. There will always be winners & losers in materialistic society. May I suggest, that we encourage all to simply STOP casino-gambling (preventative), instead of the bull-shit authorities/media's method of reactive-measures with expesive tv-radio blast, & spending even more tax-payer's monies, to hire counsellors . Complain, bitch, curse, swear, shit on the authorities or that white puppy till no end,...but really,such actions, are poor plans
